Labor & Delivery

Labor & DeliveryAt Baptist Health System, we know there are few other times in life as exciting as the birth of a child, whether that child is your first or your fifth. While each birth experience at a Baptist Health System Hospital is unique, they all have one thing in common: our staff’s uncompromising dedication to providing the best experience possible for moms and their babies.

The Labor and Delivery staff is readily available and encompasses the expertise, technical skills and clinical judgment that are vital for the health of the patient.

During labor & delivery

  • Dedicated obstetrical anesthesia services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • A nurse will monitor your labor and keep your physician informed of your progress.
  • If an emergency arises, the on-call obstetrician will be notified immediately. Your physician group has someone on call 24 hours a day.
  • You will remain in your labor/delivery/recovery room during the labor and delivery process and through the initial recovery period.
  • Support persons may remain with you throughout the birthing experience. Please share with us any special needs or concerns you or your family have. Discuss with your physician and your nurse how you would like your family members included in your birth experience, however, there may be times that the support person will have to wait in the waiting area, this would be at the discretion of the physician, and or anesthesiologist. If this occurs every effort will be made to keep your support person informed of your status.
