Staff

Our consultants, who are certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, work as members of the health care team and support breastfeeding families through education and professional advice.

Mother's Milk First Lactation Center Staff:

Amy Duval, RN, IBCLC

A former nursery/couplet care nurse, Amy became certified as an IBCLC in 2000 and has been integral in building the lactation program at North Central Baptist Hospital.

Mary Beth Blue

Mary Beth Blue has been a registered nurse for 31 years.  She became involved with breastfeeding families through products designed to promote successful breastfeeding before moving to direct care.  After receiving her certification in 2005, Mary Beth has been a strong community breastfeeding supporter through her role as President of the San Antonio Breastfeeding Coalition as well as her work as a lactation consultant at both North Central Baptist and Northeast Baptist Hospitals. 

Elizabeth DeLosSantos

Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree in 1987 from Incarnate Word College.  Her passion and focus has always been in the maternal and childcare area of nursing and has included pediatrics, mother-baby care, childbirth and family education, school nursing and lactation.  Elizabeth became a Board-Certified Lactation Consultant in 2008.

Karen Bohr, RNC, IBCLC

After a diverse nursing career from adults to NICU, Karen certified as an IBCLC in 2000 and has worked at Baptist since 2001.
